The Tiger Woods Dubai

tiger woodsTiger Woods is already one of the most successful golfers of all time. With 14 professional major golf championships and 65 PGA Tour events under his belt (or club), he is currently the World No. 1 and one of the highest-paid professional athletes in the world.

And if all goes as planned, Woods will soon be having the biggest trophy of his career yet: a luxury golf course in the middle of the Arabian desert.

The mega-project, known as The Tiger Woods Dubai, is the first golf course in the world designed by Woods himself. The course is another unbelievable project in the booming city of Dubai, along with the rotating tower, the largest arch bridge in the world, and the tallest building in the world.

As the chairman of Tiger Woods Design, the golf legend is partnering with a Dubai real estate enterprise, Tatweer, to construct a 7,800 yard, par 72, 18 hole championship course. The project is being built on a 55 million square feet of sandy land, with over 30,000 full-grown imported trees.

The ambitious project will have a state-of-the-art golf academy, an upscale shopping, a Guy Savoy restaurant, and a high-end boutique hotel. The hotel’s interiors will be designed by the famed Lebanese designer Elie Saab. It will also have residences of 22 palaces, 75 mansions, and 100 villas. The course takes super exclusive to the highest level as it will only have 200 hundred memberships.

The Tiger Woods Dubai is on target for completion sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009. It will be part of Dubailand, an ambitious multi-billion-dollar amusement park, hyped as the Middle East’s version of Orlando.
