Ways To Have Fun In Cancun

CancunAdmit it; Cancun is the ultimate Spring Break getaway. It is undeniably the place where you can find the best beach parties, the hottest clubs, and the most sizzling bodies. However, before you pack your bags and join your friends for an unforgettable weekend getaway, here are some reminders that will come in handy.

Opt for a travel package

More often than not, the tour operators know more about Cancun than you do, especially if you are getting there for the first time. This covers your airfare, hotel accommodation, and some cool benefits.

Use the local bus

The local bus system gets you around the city 24 hours a day. It only costs 5 pesos (50 US cents) and waiting time is never too long. Besides, it is a great way to meet other Spring Breakers!

Never ride taxis

Aside from the fact that bus fares are cheaper than those of taxis are, it is also safer to ride a bus. You never know how scheming Cancun cab drivers can be.

Do not rent Mopeds

Riding the motorized bicycles can be dangerous. What’s worse, if you damage one you have to pay the fine in cash, even if the damage is imaginary.

Do not urinate in public

Silly, but true. Spring Breakers tend to forget rules in the place where there seem to be no rules, but the authorities mean serious business-and we mean really serious-when it comes to certain violations, including relieving yourself in a public place.

Party cards

You can get them from your tour operator. The party card can save you time and money in getting around the city’s famous clubs. It includes cover charge and some free drinks, plus you don’t have to wait in line to pay for cover charges.

Know where to party

Your friendly tour operator usually hosts its own nightly parties. Ask them where to go, and you will most likely bump in with lots of hip and hot people.

Know what you are drinking

Bottled water is your best friend in quenching that scorching thirst. Avoid drinking water from the tap. In addition, by nighttime, never accept drinks from strangers, even if they look hot.

Pocket money

Bring between $250 to $450 worth of Travelers Check, and bring along your credit card just in case.

Never call home collect

Collect phone calls cost an arm and a leg. Instead, purchase a Telmex pre-paid calling card when you arrive. They are available almost anywhere, from convenience stores to the hotel shop. Calls cost 10 pesos a minute and they are available in 3, 5, and 10-minute cards. They only work in Telmex pay phones, make sure you press the language button so the instructions are translated to English.
