Cirque du Soleil Show in Las Vegas

Cirque du SoleilEven if you are not into gambling, it is good to know there are plenty of activities you can spend in Las Vegas, among them are watching the hottest shows in town such as those of the Cirque du Soleil.  This amazing theatrical-slash-circus act has five separate shows in the city, with a sixth show (centered about Elvis Presley) coming out on 2010. 

First on the list is the "" in MGM Grand.  This spectacular show tells the tale of Imperial twins on a journey to fulfill their destinies, using the thrills and action of martial arts techniques from different parts of the world.  It also utilizes innovative puppetry and multimedia effects.

Next comes "Mystère," which you can watch on Treasure Island, and also a special presentation that was unveiled in celebration of the group’s 10th anniversary.  Filled with amazing feats, impressive costumes, and humor, "Mystère" has been awarded eight times by the Las Vegas Review-Journal as "Best Production Show."  

The show is built on an intriguing blend of beauty and strength, power and grace, passion and precision, all amazingly presented by a cast of 72 performers.   Do note, however, that the show may verge on too intense and psychedelic for children under 8 years old. 

"Love" on Mirage brings Cirque du Soleil together with the spirit and passion of The Beatles, creating fresh mixes of classic Beatles tunes interpreted by innovative performances from a cast of 60 international artists.  The show uses more dance than the usual circus performances the groups is known for, combining aerial acts, extreme sports, and urban freestyle dance.  It is a must-see for every Beatles fans, as well as all lovers of dance.

 "O" at the Bellagio weaves an aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism, and theatrical romance.  The show features an international cast of world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers, and characters performing in, on, and above a tremendous tank of water.  "O" is housed in a magnificent theater that is reminiscent of a European opera house.

 Finally, we have "Zumanity" in New York-New York.  Promoted as "the sensual side of Cirque du Soleil," it is the group’s first adult-themed program. "Zumanity" is a seductive twist on reality, making the provocative playful and the forbidden electrifying through its burlesque and cabaret performances.  Note that you need to be at least 18 years old to attend.

Whichever show you choose, remember that you need to book your ticket in advance because you might not get any during your stay in Las Vegas.
