Things To Do In Miami

Miami beach

Being an international center for finance and commerce, the city is filled with attractions dedicated for the steady stream of visitors that come into the city and the residents alike.

Miami is famous for its beautiful beaches. The world renowned South Beach is located in Miami. There are also lots of restaurants, theaters, movie houses, shopping malls, flea markets, and other places where you can have some fun and enjoy your stay in the city.

Miami Beach

South Beach is not the only beach in Miami. You can also go to Bal Harbour Beach, known for a Palm-shaded jogging path that curves around a mile-long beach and the Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne. The latter one has is a three-mile long lagoon style beach which has 13 lifeguard towers. You can sunbathe, swim or walk, jog or skate along the concrete areas that border the beach.

Everglades National Park

If you get tired of the beaches you can go and visit the 1.5 million acres Everglades National Park. With the swamps, saw-grass prairies and sub-tropical jungles, the national park remains to be the most unusual public parks in the United States.

The park is home to 14 rare and endangered species. You can get a chance to see the American Crocodile, the Florida Panther and the West Indian Manatee up close, well not too close, of course. Visitors can go on a nature walk, camping and canoeing.

Miami Metrozoo and Seaquarium

If the real wild is too daunting for you, you can always visit the Miami MetroZoo. The zoo is allowed to keep animals from Asia, Australia and Africa. The animals are not caged unlike so many zoos around the world.

The Miami MetroZoo is a free-range type of zoo where the animals are as much as possible not being restricted through cages and enclosures. Meanwhile, the Miami Seaquarium located between downtown Miami and Miami Beach showcases a wonderful aquarium experience

Other Attractions

Aside from the sandy beaches, Miami is filled with art deco and wonderful attractions that is fun for all ages. One of which is the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden which is one of the world’s best botanic gardens. It has an extensive and rare collection of plants, palms, cycads, flowering trees and vines. The Parrot Jungle Island gives visitors a chance to get close to these tropical birds.

The Miami Children’s Museum is certainly great for kids. With their motto of "Play, Learn, Imagine, Create", the museum is definitely not the usual boring museum.

If you want to have a sense of history, then you need to visit Vizcaya, the historical 50-acre estate which gives you a glimpse of what it was like living in the South Florida of old.

Miami Casino Cruises

For the adventurous and the ones who like to try their luck in this city of Magic, they can go on board casino cruises. These casinos have both gambling tables and good food and drinks. Plus, the cruises offer live shows and performances that enhance every trip.

Conventions

The city hosts a number of national and international conventions. When you’re in town, check the schedules for you’ll never know. A great convention may be waiting for you somewhere in the city.

Adventures

Aside from the things already mentioned above, you can go a lot more adventures when you’re in Miami. You can go on a Balloon ride, viewing the city and the sky on board a balloon is an experience like no other.

 There are also fishing opportunities where you can have a chance to try this interesting sport. If a Balloon ride is too child’s play for you, then why not takes another air adventure through gliders.

Miami offers excellent conditions for air Gliders to have fun flying in the Miami sky. When you’re at the beaches, don’t forget to try Jet Skiing. The experience is worth it. Other things you can do at the beach include parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, and swimming with dolphins.
